ONGOING TCA EVENTS AT Lloyd Shaw Dance Center

Lloyd Shaw Dance Center [Map], 5506 Coal SE (not the one-way Coal), Albuquerque, New Mexico. Located two blocks south of Central; 2nd block east of San Mateo, between Central & Zuni. Please no street shoes or shoes that leave marks on the dance floor, per venue manager's request/signage.

TCA Tuesday Night Milonga, Tuesdays at Lloyd Shaw Dance Center, 7:30-10:00pm. 9/10 DJ: George Simmons. Milonga, $3 members; $5 guests. Free for first-time attendees. Upcoming 9/17 DJ: Richard Womack.

TCA Old Town Gazebo Milonga, "Tango por la Tarde," Sunday, September 22, 7:00-9:30pm. 9/22 DJ: Leslie Jones. Free event. Usually 2nd and 4th Sundays on Old Town Plaza. Our last Gazebo Milonga of 2019.

Old Town is in the NW quadrant of Albuquerque. & is bordered by Rio Grande Blvd on the west, Mountain Rd on the north, Central Ave. on the south. From Santa Fe/North: I-25 south to I-40 west; exit Rio Grande Blvd; south on Rio Grande (stay in your left lane) to Mountain Rd. Veer left onto Romero St. Parking is usually available around the Plaza; see map for additional parking areas.

TCA’s Annual Picnic/Milonga, Sunday, October 6, 3:00-7:00pm at the home of Gail & Richard Womack, 10709 Santa Monica Drive NE, Albuquerque 87122. 10/22 DJ: Kipp Chynoweth. Rudy’s BBQ, tea/water/lemonade, and cake will be provided. Bring a side dish to share. Free for TCA members; $15 for non-members. Capacity is limited to 75, so save your spot by signing up at TCA’s Tuesday Milonga or Saturday Practica or email your confirmation with attendee names. Ricardo Vidort lived in Santa Fe with Ewa Kielczewska during the last year of his life. Ewa has worked for seven years to create a comprehensive website about this unforgettable milonguero. The project may be viewed here.
